Does your education fit your job family in 2016?

Job families and participating countries are announced and we can start our preparation for the UN YPP 2016 now!

Education requirements are one of key eligibility criteria for the UN Young Professionals Programme. Remember, to be able to apply for the UN YPP 2016, you are required to have at least a first-level university degree in the areas mentioned in the job desciption.

The education requirements for the UN YPP 2016 job families are the following:

Economic Affairs

To apply for the Economic Affairs job family, you need to have a completed degree (at least a first-level university degree) in one of the following main courses of study:

  • Social & Behavioural Science
  • Mathematics & Statistics
  • Business & Administration
  • Environmental Protection
  • Agriculture, Forestry & Fishery

After selecting the main course of study in inspira, you will also need to choose the field of study that is closest to your degree and fill the exact title in original language as well as its translation in English or French. Fields of study are different, for example for the ‘Social & Behavioural Science’ main course they are as follows:

Therefore, you can see that there is a wide number of degrees, with which you are eligible to apply for the UN YPP 2016 Economic Affairs. Check all the eligible main courses of study (indicated above) and look for your specific degree in the ‘Field of Study’ dropdown menu. Information and Telecommunication Technology

To apply for the Information and Telecommunication Technology job family, you need to have a completed degree (at least a first-level university degree) in one of the following main courses of study:

  • Arts
  • Computing
  • Mathematics & Statistics
  • Engineering & Engineering Trades
  • Physical Sciences
  • Business & Administration
