It has come to our attention that recently the United Nations has published an announcement on its career website saying that YPUN is engaged in “illegal activities”. The full text of the message is quoted below:
“Please beware of entities that are misusing the UN name, acronym and/or emblem and offering YPP examination preparation services for a fee. One such known entity, named “YPUN,” which also conducts activities under the name “International Relations Career Challenge,” is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by the United Nations. YPUN has engaged in illegal activities, such as the sale of YPP exam materials, which are UN property. Unauthorized disclosure of any portion of a YPP exam constitutes theft of United Nations property. Additionally, YPUN charges fees for preparation materials that the UN provides at no cost. YPUN is also misrepresenting itself as being part of or affiliated with the United Nations, including via its social media accounts.”
Indeed, YPUN was offering YPP written exam preparation packages for candidates which (among other materials) also included past YPP examination questions designed by the United Nations. We regret to know that the UN has considered this as “illegal” activity and following this request we have now deleted all materials developed and issued by the United Nations from our website, including all previous UN YPP exam papers. Cordially, we are now reviewing and updating our written examination packages which will consist of the preparation materials designed by us. The updated packages will be available at a later date.
We would like to take this opportunity to formally apologise before the official United Nations authorities for this issue and for any confusion caused by our social media accounts. We hereby confirm that have no affiliation or endorsement by the official United Nations authorities.
