UN YPP 2017: Countries and Exam Areas are Announced
The United Nations made announcement of participating countries for the United Nations Young Professionals Programme 2017, as well as of the job areas, in which the exam will be held.
UN YPP 2017 Participating Countries
To participate in the UN YPP 2017 you must hold the nationality of one of the following countries:
Afghanistan, Andorra, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahrain, Belarus, Belize, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, China, Comoros, Dominica, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Honduras, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Iraq, Japan, Kiribati, Kuwait, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Monaco, Mozambique, Nauru, Norway, Oman, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Qatar, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, South Sudan, Suriname, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United States, Vanuatu, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Viet Nam.
The UN YPP 2017 participating countries are selected by the United Nations. These countries are un- and under-representated among its staff members. If your country of nationality is not included in the list, you are not eligible to apply for the UN YPP 2017. The list changes on an annual basis.
UN YPP 2017 Exam Areas
This year the UN YPP 2017 written examination will be held in three areas:
1. Political, Peace and Humanitarian (POLNET):
- Civil Affairs
- Electoral Affairs
- Human Rights Affairs
- Humanitarian Affairs
- Political Affairs
- Rule of Law
- Security Institutions
2. Management and Administration (MAGNET):
- Inspection and Evaluation
- Human Resources
- Investment Management
- Management and Analysis
- Ombudsman Procurement
3. Public Information and Conference Management (INFONET):
- Conference services
- Documentation and Information Management
- Public information
UN YPP 2017 Application Dates
The application period will start in May 2017 and will continue till July 2017. The written examination for POLNET area will be held online in September 2017. The written examination for MAGNET and INFONET areas will be held in-person in December 2017.
