Written examination
The UN YPP written examination takes place in December and consists of two parts: a general paper and a specialized paper. The general paper tests your writing and analytical skills and includes a summary; the specialized paper tests the substantive knowledge of your job family and includes multiple choice questions, long (essay) questions, and short questions.
The written exam is the most competitive part of the UN YPP: only 4% of candidates pass this stage and are invited for an interview.
